Registration
The Registration form is available here. If you are an invited speaker you do not need to submit a registration form, however if you wish to buy an additional dinner tickets for your partner, please complete the registration form indicating that you would like to purchase the dinner ticket. Please complete and return the registration form by 31 January 2012. All costs mentioned in the form are in Australian dollars.
AUSTRALIAN-BASED EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS AND STUDENTS: The Australian Nanotechnology Network (ANN) and the Australian Government’s Department of Innovation Industry Science and Research are funding a generous subsidy for a selected number of Australian-based early career researchers and students to register for the workshop. Please download the application form here. THE SUBMISSION DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 7TH FEBRUARY 2012.
Accommodation
Accommodation for invited speakers, as well as transportation between the university and hotel has been arranged at the Sebel Hotel at Newcastle Beach. If you are not staying at the hotel, there are a number of surrounding hotels and youth hostels within close walking distance to Newcastle train station as well as the conference dinner location at Noah's on the Beach.
The Sebel Hotel is situated close to Newcastle Beach and Newcastle Train Station. We recommend either flying into either Sydney International Airport or Newcastle Domestic Airport (Williamtown). The map below highlights the location of the workshop, accommodation pick up point, Newcastle and Warabrook (University) train stations and Newcastle's Williamtown Airport.
Backpackers by the Beach and Newcastle Beach YHA are within close walking distance to Newcastle Station and the conference dinner location at Noah's on the Beach.

Arriving from Sydney International Airport:
Rail line: A train can be caught from Sydney International Airport to Sydney Central station, where you can transfer to a train bound for Newcastle Station. The trip should take roughly 3 hours and cost $18 including the airport train and fare to Newcastle. Most major car-hire companies have pick up and drop off points between Sydney Airport and Newcastle, however the drop off points are not within walking distance from the Sebel hotel.
Happy Cabby is a group taxi service which operates between Sydney International Airport to your specific destination. Arriving from Newcastle Domestic Airport (Williamtown)
You can fly to Newcastle airport by catching a plane from most major Australian cities. Popular companies that fly here include Jetstar, Virgin Blue, Qantas and Rex. The airport is 29km from the Sebel Hotel near Newcastle Beach. The airport's website can be found at www.NewcastleAirport.com.au

Newcastle Hire Cars are a taxi service that provide a more comfortable service than general taxis. A trip from Newcastle Airport to the Sebel Hotel in Newcastle will cost approx $50 AUD. Bookings can be made by calling or online. It is recommended that you arrange earlier to avoid delays.
Newcastle Taxis is a local taxi company. A rough estimate for a trip from Newcastle Airport to the Sebel is $65 AUD, with a 20% surcharge between 10pm and 6am.

Transfers between Accommodation and Workshop
Private cars will transport invited speakers between the hotel and University on both days of the conference. For those booking accommodation near a railway station, the conference venue at the University of Newcastle's Callaghan campus is accessible by arriving at Warrabrook station and walking over the bridge towards the campus at the Advanced Technology Centre building (ATC) as shown in the .pdf map here.
